Calling all UK citizens with expired passports – renew them now! Well before the 2nd Feb!
Yes, you in the back that’s trying to hide and pretend you cannot see what I have written – do it now! Why? The UK Government has announced for the first time in 5 years the passport fees are increasing!
The proposed change will take effect on 2nd February 2023 at 5am if it passes parliamentary scrutiny (which in other words means that it will happen).
Lizzy (not to be confused with Lizzie who just passed – we are talking about Liz Truss the Prime Minister) and her mates have said the new fees will help reduce the reliance on taxpayer money to fund and improve the service (whatever that means).
So, what are the proposed price increases? Welp… according to the gov.uk website:
Anyone else thinks that the UK is bigging up it’s chest because it’s in the top ten of passports to hold? Just me? hmmm – something to think about though!
I would definitely advise anyone who needs a passport renewal to do it now – yes the change is minimal but ramp up the work so they can give a ‘better service’ after the 2nd init? I mean hopefully this means that Parliament are going to pay the Passport Service people more….
Or…there might be more strikes in the future (teachers and nurses are next if my memory serves me right….)
Let the games begin…good luck out there! (I won’t be here though)
