A Jill of Many Trades

It is January 2023, I would like to reintroduce myself. Not just by my newly given Ghanaian name but as me – who I am and who I am not.

My name is Tillyah Canoville, I used to struggle to introduce myself with what I do because I find that I am not perfect at everything so I cannot call it amazing. But there is such a beauty in not being an expert – it means I am always learning.

My favourite saying is “a jack of all trades is a master of none but sometimes better than a master of one”. I heard it as a child – around 7/8 and it has followed me to now in my 30s. I love life and all things about it. Sometimes you will find me at a bar somewhere sunny taking shots of tequila and forcing my friends to take shots with me or you can find me looking like a crazy hermit in my house. I am an extreme person (if you havent guessed already).

I say all this to say I do a lot and I do not stay in one box (and won’t). I am a content creator – mainly travel/lifestyle, I consult on social media content strategy and help companies come out of the dark ages, I am currently batch recording for The Departure Lounge Podcast (#IYKYK – announcement coming soon) and so much more whilst working full time.

I also have a background in html coding, graphic design, working in prop-tech and with the professional interest of going into aviation (don’t ask its a childhood dream; I give it 10 years). These things don’t make me special nor do they define me because when you meet me in person I am just simply Tillyah and this year I want people to see me. The raw uncut version.

The one who stresses over being late to a meeting even though I get normally get to meetings 15 minutes early, the one who obsesses of the details that no one else can see in my outfit or when I am designing something and the one who loves meeting people who vibe correctly.

I am not my job nor the business ventures I go after, I am a creative being, a sensitive/emotional Pisces and I stand true in that. I am currently not single and I have an amazing man who lives in Ghana. My few close friends (legit 4 people) are the only ones who see the real me – I am an onion, I only peel away layers to people that deserve.

And just like an onion, the closer you get to the middle the harder it is to peel away. I am dramatic.

This blog’s first name was “The ramblings of a drama Kween” that was back in 2011 as I was ranting about my college friends who did not make a group trip to Portugal but I did. If you have been with me since those days, I am truly thankful, it has been a journey and I have allocated time this quarter to move old posts on to this new site.

For those of you who are new – welcome. 2023 is going to be a great year for all of us.
