Following on from my love letter to Saint Aymes post, I thought why not tell you more about what happened on 21st January 2023. Brown Skin Brunchin’ (BSB) launched it’s London Chapter of the network and of course I was there!
The BSB founders (Lilly and Mel) wanted to create a community of professional minority women who desired to expand their personal and professional circles, minus the awkwardness of traditional networking events. With that idea in mind, they created Brown Skin Brunchin’ to bring together women in a casual setting, which made making a new connection organic, simple, and most of all, fun! Brown Skin Brunchin’ is the go-to crew for minority women who brunch and are in search of ideas of how to brunch, where to brunch, and who to brunch with.
I have been following BSB for a while and have been clocking places to go for brunch across the states of united (see what I did there?). When they decided to collaborate with my favourite black business (Saint Aymes) you know I had to pull up.
I dragged my trusty friend Jasmine with me because why not? I met the founders, had a dranky drank and met some amazing black women. There were introductions, vibes and overall boss woman femininity was flowing. I made some connections with some stellar women who I quite possibly would not have in every day life. And to add the cherry on top the cake; I am going to be one of the London Ambassadors for BSB.
I am excited to represent this beacon for black femininity and community. The founders Lillian Jackson and Melissa Mason inspire me to just be myself, standing in my true authentic self and showing up for myself. Crazy isn’t it?!
Update – Check out our next brunch here (I update it monthly just in case you are reading this post later in the year)
