British Travellers our time has come! The annoying days of carefully planning your liquids into that stuuuuupid plastic wallet is finally coming to an end(ish)!
Currently the rules at UK airports require passengers to place all liquids (under 100ml) in a plastic bag – one per passenger. The plastic bag must be removed from carry-on luggage when passing through security checks. This practice is impractical, outdated and wasteful towards the planet. I also want to add that it is also EXTREMELY inconvenient as sometimes leaves people having to cram their liquids into that bag or risk them being thrown away.
However, the UK government is considering installing the hi-tech scanners in airports across the country that many other countries around the world (especially in Europe) have in place. The introduction of 3D scanners at airports would mean passengers no longer have to remove liquids from hand luggage.
If the technology is rolled out, the security rules on taking liquids and laptops out of carry-on bags could be scrapped in the UK in 2024.
It is yet to be confirmed…. but let’s celebrate!
Love and Hugs,
