Not me going to a fashion show! Yes, you read correctly – I might as well be a fashion blogger now! (if you knew me in real life you know how funny that statement is)
As the Community Manager for the Black British Bloggers Network, sometimes I am able to go and represent the brand at some events and this time we were invited to see Sabirah’s new collection – Collection 1.4 – for London Fashion Week in Somerset House.
As a non-fashion blogger, I felt privileged to be able to see these amazing pieces that were not just pleasing to look at but great to touch and sustainable as well! Sabirah is the brain child of Deborah Latouche, a black british fashion designer from London. The brand has been featured in Vogue (UK, Greece, India), Red Magazine, Tatler and many other publications so it was an honour to be there!
Deborah Latouche explained her process of creating the collection, the reasoning behind each piece with such conviction and passion, it made me want to see more. All the pieces are available for purchase and are made to your body measuresments – so even fluffy me can get a piece made!
We got to have a close look at the pieces on the models as well as the pieces on hangers which brought to my attention the intricate details of the pieces. For example there is a cream jacket with exquiste gold button detailing (pictured above). I am no fashion expert buuuuut you can see it for yourself!
It was intimate, beautiful and the message of ‘modestly beautiful’ was a theme that rang through the collection. Beautiful colours, beautiful textures, beautiful accessories and pieces! I think even Miranda Priestly from The Devil wears Prada would be impressed!
Thank you for an amazing experience Sabirah! I look forward to coming again. Don’t forget to go check out Collection 1.4 on the Sabirah website.
Love and hugs,
