It is day 949449084 since the pandemic began and I have been at home waiting for Boris and his mates to communicate with us all. I cannot say I am hating it because the much needed break and lack of hustle and bustle of commuting to work has been phenomenal. Working in property and seeing that my job can be 100% remote has been a boost for me personally.
My personal productivity at work has skyrocketed, my KPIs have been blown out the water and my bank account is happy as I have no need to spend money on anything but groceries and bills. I have been more connected with my online friends than ever before.
Everywhere I look, so many people have been complaining about wanting to go out and how the weather is amazing. I have fully immersed myself into not having to leave my house because if I be real; not having to give an excuse as to why I don’t want to go out is amazing!
For me; I am fully relaxed and as a result; my social anxiety is on 0 which is a first since before puberty! Also one thing has been on my mind is the friends I made during my travels who are digital nomads. They are working for companies and are 100% remote and move as free as they want, VPN on and off they go.
Earlier this year there was a huge amount of full time travelers taking the leap to become digital nomads. They have been moving to Bali, Thailand, South Africa and other places of the like. Places where they get their £40k-£70k PA but their cost of living is so low they can live like kings, save money and move freely.
This has me thinking – is there a point in me staying here in London? Two amazing friends of mine have been riding around Europe in their car, stopping only to work for a few hours a day and then exploring. As you would expect travel is a lot cheaper due to most people being in their homes but I like the concept of living in a big car.
Personally, I do not drive but my current boyfriend does – this might be a move. What do you guys thing? I have a question poll on Instagram for the next 24 hours – let me know your opinions. I will be on IG live at 5pm on Saturday – pull up, let’s have a chat on there.
Let me know your thoughts on going completely remote and maybe my becoming a digital nomad.
Love and hugs,
Tillyah
